The Principal Story

About Us:
The purpose of Learning Forward Georgia is to promote the development of educational personnel in order to improve student learning by providing leadership, by modeling and disseminating effective staff development practices and by serving as the state network for individuals and organizations responsible for growth of others.

The Learning Forward Georgia Mission: 
To ensure success for all students by serving as the state network for those who improve schools and by advancing individual and organizational development.

Who is eligible to join Learning Forward Georgia:
Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Directors and Coordinators of Professional Development, Personnel, Curriculum, Special Education, Chapter I and other district level programs, Principals, Assistant Principals, Lead Teachers, Classroom Teachers, Consultants, Teacher Trainers, RESA and GLRS Personnel, College and University Personnel and State Department of Education Personnel.

Learning Forward Georgia's Belief Statements:
•The purpose of staff development is to improve student learning.
• Staff Development results in school improvement as measured by the success of every student.
• Staff developers must be leaders in effecting educational change.
• Staff development must involve those most directly affected.
• Effective staff development is based on theory, research, and proven practice.
